WANA ( May 18) – The recent remarks by the U.S. President during his regional visit were met with a clear and reasoned response from the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran—a response that, rather than resorting to noise or anger, challenged the rhetoric with calm logic and perspective.

Trump’s Triangle of Policy: Threats, Pressure, Psychological Warfare

From the beginning, the Trump administration’s approach toward Iran was marked by threats—meant to project power. Economic pressure was applied to strangle Iran’s economy, and psychological warfare was launched to break spirits. The climax of this strategy came during his theatrical visit to Saudi Arabia, where behind the smiles, the shadow of bombs loomed.

But in Tehran, during a formal meeting with teachers, the response was of a different kind: direct, composed, and free of clamor.

A Silent Rebuke to Nonsense

In the first part of his remarks, Iran’s Supreme Leader described Trump’s tone as so crude and shallow that responding to it would be beneath dignity. It was a silence rooted in contempt, not fear:

“Some of the things said during the U.S. President’s visit to the region are not even worth responding to… They are a source of shame for the speaker and the American nation.”

Sometimes, silence speaks louder than any words.

Exposing the Contradiction Between Words and Deeds

The Leader went on to pull back the mask from Trump’s face. He questioned the claim of seeking peace: What peace? When America’s ten-ton bombs rain down on the children of Gaza, when hospitals in Lebanon are destroyed with Washington’s backing—what exactly is that power being used for?

“When have they used their power to make peace?” A simple question, with a bitter answer.

Progress Without Independence Is Just a Pretty Package

In another pointed remark, the Leader referred to countries that appear to have advanced under American patronage—but in truth, are nothing more than “milking cows.” As long as they serve a purpose, they are respected—otherwise, they are cast aside.

In this view, development without sovereignty is merely a beautiful wrapping for a degrading reality. “…They can’t survive ten days without America… That model has failed.”

Iran: Alive, Advancing, and Resilient

Finally, attention turned to Iran—a country that has chosen a path of self-reliance and internal strength. The Supreme Leader emphasized the vitality of Iran’s younger generation and contrasted today’s Iran with its past, painting a hopeful vision for the future:

“Iran has made progress—and, God willing, it will continue to progress many times over.”
